The Tuskegee Airmen Today
In 2006, the Tuskegee Airmen were collectively awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in recognition of their service and sacrifice for their country to the United States during World War II. The official ceremony was held on March 29, 2007, in Washington D.C. George W. Bush gave them the medal himself.
The Tuskegee Airmen are and have been featured in many movies, books, interviews, and documentaries as of now, including the film Red Tails, directed by Anthony Hemingway.
